Chia-Hung has completed his BFA degree at National Yunlin University Science & Technology and MSc degree at National Cheng Kung University both were Industrial Design; he also got an Associate degree in Electronic Engineering at Lung Hwa Junior College. He worked as a design patent examiner in Taiwan over seven years.

Research Area
His research area is using application of design patent databases to solve product design issues with various design disciplines, also developing new frameworks in design strategy and product design protection which relate to user-centred design.
